Colonial Junior Lacrosse Club (CJLC) was founded by Thor and Willie Juhlin on March 28, 1988 to initiate interest and encourage the development of lacrosse skills for the youth of the Greater Morristown area.
The CJLC was formed as a tax-exempt organization under 501(c)(3) and the first registration fees amounted to $40 per player. Initially the CJLC targeted 6th, 7th & 8th grade boys, provided all the necessary equipment for each player and relied on volunteers to operate the club, fundraise, schedule games and maintain fields. While the program has expanded to include participation in grades K-8, we still rely on volunteers from the community to maintain and ensure its success.
The CJLC was instrumental in the formation of the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League and the 8th grade league tournament each year honors Thor Juhlin's contribution to lacrosse in all of North Jersey.
